For some days, we have been very excited to take possession of our boat, especially the children, thinking of that moment. Thus, they "climbed" on board immediately; there was more space than we expected! Three cabins, two bathrooms and a sitting room! There was really enough space for everyone.
While giving us detailed explanations for a perfect installation, the base manager taught us our first handling and went into every detail of our way. Finally, we were impatient to go off upstream with our new "house". Our first destination was "Chalon sur Saône". We arrived there at the beginning of the afternoon. The port manager welcomed us very nicely and indicated us our place to spend the night. Then, our captain bravely performed his first handling.
We walked on foot up to the old town to have dinner and found a small and nice restaurant where we ate local fish. When we walked back on board, we sat all together on the after deck to take a last drink before going to sleep. It was a very nice summer night. We appreciated this quiet evening a lot. But gradually, each one in his turn disappeared to go to sleep and lie on his cosy bed.
The next morning, after having taken a hearty breakfast with fresh bread and warm croissants, we walked again up to town. After a few hours of shopping, we finally set out for our big trip! We mapped out a route along the "Canal du centre" to spend our holidays.We left the town and were very proud on board our yacht. The houses were slowly passing by. Then only nature surrounded us. An angler waved us from the side. This was the beginning of our unforgettable holidays.
